Today Dad and i traveled to the niangua arm in search of the warmer water! Wamer water we found!! The temp down the Niangua was from 48 to 55 degrees. alot warmer than the main lake of the osage. However our first stop was in the Tan Tara area where i hooked a good fish non my first cast! it came in the back of a pocket behind a wave runner hoist. We got the bass all the way to the boat but couldnt manage to get him in. he was a solid 2-3 pound bass. We fished on with no bites then headed to the Niangua. With the water down there being so warm we were hoping to get alot of bites. I tell you what 2nd cast in our first spot in the Niangua I caught a giant that weighed 5.1. Dad and i were excited to see this. All in all though it tricked us!! the bite was tough for us mostly threw the day. Wee headed to Haha Tonka where the water was 55 degrees. What a beautiful place to fish!! In there i caught two massive hybrids!! man those guys will test your drag!! We also caught a handful of bass pitching and flipping the docks in there, but all were short…super short!!! we had a blast today its always fun for me to fish waters that i rarely fish. I recommend members to go and try to fish niangua arm. its pretty neat!! |
