Fishing Notes |

This morning my son Rob and I took the Bassing Bob Brush Boat (B4) from the mouth of the Glaize to the dam area to sink some brush piles. As I am breaking in a new Mercury motor on the brush boat, we cruised to the dam at a slow 12-14 MPH and took 1.5 hours to get there. We met my good friend and Bassing Bob writer/Professional Advisor John Neporandy at his home at the 2mm. John’s neighbor had some hard wood trees trimmed and left the branches for us to sink. Rob, John and I sank 16 nice big brush piles at strategic areas around the 2mm, it will be fun to go back to check these piles in the next few weeks and future. After brushing I got on the water about 3PM and fished til about 5 with my 7 year old grandson Landen. We fished a medium sized cove/creek at the 6mm of the Glaize to see where the fish were holding. Due to the wind from the south, we found lots of bait and fish on main lake points. We caught a couple of bass including a small keeper working the jerk bait very close to the rocks right on the main lake point working the jerk bait fast. Then we moved to the LORA cove, we fished some shallow flats on the main cove banks, again working the bait fast over the 5-7 feet of water, catching a couple of bass including a 4 pounder that came undone at the boat and a very big crappie on the stick bait. |
