Fishing Notes

What a weekend for Ben and I! We fished the two day Alhonna tourney that is always a fun tournament. We practiced on the lower end and did well but could not find the giant fish! So i took a half a day to go check out the glaze the day before the tourney started and hooked a 6.67 and a 5 pounder!! so i told ben we got to go down there and run this pattern. Big fish will really tell you where there at. Thats why after you catch a big fish remember what you did what kind of bank it was on and etc…So we went down on day 1 of the tourney and started fishing, both of us were throwing wake n reation mega bass jerkbaits. We caught a number of fish but no big ones. We had 4 fish in the live well about 1 o clock, then a big one finally bite my mega bass!! it was a 5.33. On this day ben and i lost 4 good sized fish that really would of helped our cause. So after day 1 we weighed 13.10 and were sitting in 12th, so we were still in the hunt for a check. On Day two we knew we had to get em!! we started on the low end by Alhonna, mainly to let all the other tourneys let out and get to there fishing holes. With no luck we headed back to the glaze. The night b efore we changed all of our hooks to better ones hoping that would keep these bass from shaking the hooks. Boy did it work!! the wind was perfect for the stick bait blowing directly on to the banks that we wanted to fish. Ben and i loaded the boat by 1030 am, threw the day we culled a number of times to get up to 19.19 pounds!! we made a big come back from yeaterday!! We ended up taking 3rd overall with the biggest bag brought in on day two!! Ben and i were so pumped. We have a great partnership on the water which is very important when tourney fishing
