Fishing Notes

Today was an great bite, it felt good after Wayne and I struggled in the Anglers Choice tournament yesterday in which we only had 3 keeper bites all day, one of which was a giant which pulled off at the boat as I was untangling the net from a spinner bait. Yesterday the conditions were quite different and the fished seemed to pull of the back of creeks and shallow bite in favor of on the banks around secondary and main lake points/banks with pea gravel after the cold front and strong cold winds. Today, with sunshine a bit of wind and bluebird sky’s the bass were right back where I had a good bite early last week. The water warmed right back up in those shallow areas, the bait fish were blown in there and the big females were eating. We caught 10 keepers out of 3 shallow creeks and several short fish without even moving the boat, just sitting off the mouth of these creeks in 10′ of water and fan casting to 2′-6′ of water and hooking up.
