Today i went out with my good friend Vern! Are intentions were to find a bass bite, then go crappie fishing. I tell ya what… the bass fishing didn’t go so well so we went crappie fishing right away!! Vern and i targeted chunk rock with pea gravel underneath. We got bites right away throwing our shadalicious crappie jigs with a 1/32oz crappie jig head. We fished the glaze on main lake indentations and pea gravel chunk rock mix pockets inside of coves. The boat was always in 10-15 foot of water. We through to the bank every cast. Most our bites came in about 5 foot of water or less. Boy the drum were biting the crappie jigs as well!!! we caught at least 10 drum and 4 catfish. Vern and i ended up catching 20 crappie and took home 18. I noticed that we wouldn’t catch alot in on e spot. Two or three in the same spot at the most. Thats we you leave that spot and come back later in the day. This pattern worked out for us! |
