Targeting areas around spawning pockets and main lake points/banks on the Osage from the 20-24mm.

Fishing Notes

Today I got on the water about 10:30 and fished until 2:30. I was checking things out in spawning pockets from the 20-24mm of the Osage. I worked the backs of a few coves with very little luck getting bites with the C-Rig and spinner bait. I caught a few short fish on the wiggle wart and D-Bomb on COG Gator Lock Head (formerly Waynes Head) available only at Fitz Fishing, on creek channel banks leading to spawning pockets. I was quick trolling between spawning pockets throwing the jerk bait on a main lake flat around the 24mm across from Paradise Bar n Grill, when the 6.4 pounder hit in probably 6-8 feet of water. Overall, it was a disappointing day as I could not get any solid keepers in the spawning pockets in the at stretch. However, I would be more than happy to catch a 6.4 pounder this weekend in the Big Bass Bash but those big ones seem to elude me on tournament day.
