Fishing Notes

Today I got on the water about 10PM and fished until 5PM. I ran up the Glaize to avoid the boat traffic today with the intention of looking for brush piles to see if the fish are getting into the brush in the upper areas of the Glaize where the water is a bit warmer and a bit shallower. The bite was not great but over the course of 7 hours I was able to boat 4 keepers, no hawgs though. I probably spent a quarter of my time idling with my graph to find brush piles and then back off and fish to them, pulling the 3/4 oz Davenport Special jig up to the brush and pulling it through, most bites came just as my jig was pulling off the last set of brush branches. The bite was rather light, just a slight tick or the feeling of weight. I also used the crank bait to locate the brush, fan casting around to feel the brush and if I did not get bit on the crank bait, I would then flip the jig around the brush. Most of the brush that I fished was in 17-19′ of water. I also caught a keeper on a bluff end with rock pile, flipping the Shaker Head w worm along the rock pile. I also caught a nasty sun burn on both of my elbows, I used sunscreen spray on my arms, but failed to get both elbows…ouch!!
