Fishing Notes |
---|
today i was ready to hit the water with Ben and our buddy Zack to search for some crappie, but mother nature kept us on the docks. We fished around hanging brush for about 3 hours. we had pretty good luck dropping our baits straight down to about 15 foot. We notice our bites came in about 10 foot or less! I always drop the bait a little deeper and just hold the bait still, if no bites i slowly reel it up and find what depth the fish are sitting in. I was surprised seeing the crappie pretty much suspended under the dock foam instead of the brush. I also walk the bait slowly around these depths holding the bait as still as i can as i walk around the dock wells, this also seems to trigger bites when the going is tough. We ended up catching a few solid keepers just couldn’t get any big bites. I am going to add a photo of bens giant catfish he caught while bass fishing later that day. |
