Fishing Notes

Very tough bite today. I started fishing about noon and fished until 5. I started off fishing the stick bait on main lake points and bluff ends with the big wind with no bites. I then fished some fresh spots that I have not fished before toward the backs of some creeks, trying to use my graph to find steep banks, bait fish, etc. However, these areas that I fished really did not have the steep bank cuts that I was really looking for but I fished them any way, fishing the stick bait and jig along side of docks. I really did not see much life on these banks and secondary points. I struggled to get a bite. Aboout 4;00 I found a side creek off a big creek that had the banks and swings that I was looking for. it was somewhat out of the wind and there was life on my graph which gave me confidence to really slow down and soak my stick bait along side of docks. I caught 4 shorts, 1 keeper and 2 big crappie on the stick bait, then I ran out of day light. These steep banks in side pockets have produced best for me the past week or so.
