Fished a half-day each day Thursday and Friday trying to prepare for the BFL tournament. I could not practice as much as I needed to to be able to compete with the anglers we have here in the Ozarks but was able to catch a couple of nice ones Thursday on the a-rig in the clearer colder water in dam to Gravois area over brush. Friday ran up the Glaize where the water was warmer and didn’t fair well so ran down by the Tan-tar-a area in the pouring down rain which we didn’t fair any better. The BFL was a bust for me and I did not make very good decisions and kind of got spun out after boats were sitting on a couple of primary spots but oh well, learn and live. If I were to go fishing right now I would put a jerkbait in my hand and go fish shallow. The crappie fishing is HOT right now with the magnums hitting the jerk bait! |
