Fishing Notes |
---|
Well, two short days in a row does not seem to be a recipe for fishing success this time of the year. Friday I had some late morning/early afternoon meetings and today, Saturday, had a call for a scale at Alhonna as their scale shot craps for their charity tournament this weekend. So I fished for an hour late morning and for an hour mid afternoon around the Lower Glaize. Thats all ok with me, I usually dont like to fish the day before a tournament, would hate to stick 5-6 pounder on the day before. I covered a lot of water both days in those areas, just to see if I could figure anything out from spot to spot, making 5-6 cast on points then move, 5-6 cast on seconary points, then move, 4-6 cast of creek channel banks, then move and same back around pea gravel. I fished with several stick bait colors, wakin Reaction, PM Twilight and Deadly Black Shad, 6th Sense Curve 55 Crank Bait, Carolina Rig and Dirks Jig. I was hoping to find something close to home for the tournament tomorrow, but looks like either a run toward the Gravois/Dam or Tan Tara to 4 Corners Area (linn Creek, 30mm of Osage and Lower Niangua. My Nephews Nick and Jim Bueltmann smashed yesterday when they got to the lake after work. they caught 20 pounds from 5:00PM – 6:15PM on bluff end well up the Glaize and on banks just inside of main lake bluff ends. Watch their video, A-Rig and Stick Bait. |
