Miserable bass report and we need a few volunteers

Put in at Coffman at 9am. Place was packed for a Wednesday.  Had to park up the hill. Both parking lots were full. Great weather,  warm, clouds, and wind. Place was packed.

Fishing was horrible.  Don’t know what the big problem was.  Everything looked good but we just missed the fish. We had one good fish at the side of the boat come off with an a rig. We threw a rigs, jigs, crankbaits, jerkbait, ned rigs, just about everything. Caught one more fish on a small plastic crawfish.  Can’t wait to go back to crappie fishing.  It’s been great. Bass fishing is getting worse and worse.  Funny thing is my catching some bigs ones when we do catch a bass right now.  We fished main lake points and pockets, secondary points, steep banks in the backs of coves, off shore brushpiles,  shad schools, along side docks. March is one of the most rewarding and most challenging months there is period. 7 years ago today I had a customer catch a 10.11 oz bass. Today was a different story.

Tomorrow is a different day and they will probably turn back on.

On a different topic I am helping a military veteran here at the lake who is putting together a small group of fishermen at the end of April.  Primarily a crappie fishing trip were we need volunteers for. If you are available April 24,25 and want to take people fishing give us a call 563 260 3727.  You need to be helpful and have a boat. Crappie should be on the banks by then so catching at least a few should be easy.
