For those of you that don’t know, BassingBob had a heart surgery earlier this year. Recovery from the complications has taken a long time. Today was his first day back on the water!  It was a horrible day. Lots of cold, rain, and some wind. But today was really a day to get back into the swing of things. Casting, balancing (with waves) and so on. We put in at pb2 mid day and fished a couple hours or so.

Fishing Notes

The heavy rain over night muddied up some of the back ends of the creeks. We got about and inch and half of rain. We got a few little bumps on an E-Factor spinnerbait but didn’t hook up.  Normally I would have locked that bait in my hand the whole day but I haven’t fished the lower glaize in a while wanted to try several baits. Water clarity changed dramatically from area to area. All of it was very fishable as the temperature has warmed to a level that so do not have to be worried about cold, muddy water.  We eventually caught one average bass on a Crock-O-Gator beaver bug with a tackle hd shaky head. It wasn’t much but we knew we weren’t going to be out there long. It rained the whole time and I didn’t want to get Bob sick so I said we better go in. Bob is one tough guy. I think fishermen in general are some of the hardiest people out there. And some of the most stubborn because we’ll fish in the worst possible conditions we’re reasonable people stay indoors.  It’s good to have Bob back. I gave him a big hug.
