Fishing Notes

Fished inside cove next to Assembly of God Church at mouth of Gravois . Can be seen off main channel with large white cross on point. Due to weather forecast of severe weather stayed in that cove for four hours , landed nine fish with two keepers , largest 3 lbs. not a large cove but I have found always holds fish. Started fishing around eight and finished about noon. Started with a Crock-o-Gator black buzz bait with gold blade. Threw several times and had a huge explosion behind a dock in around foot of water. Hooked a nice one but shook off. With no more bites I threw a craw colored crankbait. No luck. Switched to a green pumpkin Senko and caught a nice 3 pounder. Threw it most of the day with hooking eight more with another small keeper. Wind was starting to pick up and had a call that storms was moving this way so I decided to fish just a bit more. With water warming up to almost 62 I switched back to buzzbait. After several cast I had another huge bite but missed it. I then seen a nice size one swimming behind ramp float and stayed on for around twenty minutes but no luck to bite I tried everything! Overall a pretty good day, would have stayed out longer but the weather was getting a little spooky.
