Fishing Notes

On tuesday we had a trip at 6:30 AM with three genarations Grandpa, son, and grandson and dorther. With the clouds and lite rain I started the kids out with top water baits and jigs for the older guys. The little girl had the first fish in the boat a nice kentucky in the two lb range. After a few missed fish we moved down river a few miles and tryed the rock but no luck. I moved to some logs and brush on the orther side of the river. The little boy was about 6 yrs old so I was trying to help him cast. I cast to some brush and the jig didn’t hit bottom when the line started to move of so we set the hook hard and I gave the boy the rod to land the fish. He did a good job working it and out from under the boat came a 5 lb walley. It was picture time with him. About an hour when by with out much happing so I tied on a spook and was working it real slow when a nice 5 plus lb bass hit it. I agin handed the rod to the little boy and told his dad to help. After a god fight they landed it and a big smile come out of both the dad and son. That made my day. Fishing over all was good size but not a lot of numbers as the weather changes more the bite will keep getting better and the number will come back too.
