Fishing Notes

Fished up the river for the first time in a while. I was thinking and hoping the water would have some color to it and be a little warmer than the reports I had been hearing from the 8 mm area. I put in at pb 2 around 8:45am and bundled up for the run. Very brisk to say the least. Started back in a creek with the jerk bait water temp was 49 and caught a couple short fish then hit the bank and got wiggy with it. Kept the boat in 6′ casting parallel to the bank had a quick flurry around 10:15 had a 5 and 2 cookie cutter 3.5lbers off to a good start. Then caught a couple short fish on the jig then tried to duplicate same thing in a differ t creek, no joy started workin my way down lake had two more fish pull off on a wart never saw them. Went to a different creek caught a short on a wart then picked up the jig caught 3 keepers in a hour off a channel bank had a good stretch of no action before but all in all a good day! Weather went from snow to sun, March in missouri never a dull moment
