Fishing Notes

Annual family easter weekend. Not a hardcore trip but it was fun to get out with my brother and Nephew. Fished around the 8 mm for the most part hoping the 4 days of great spring weather and rain had warmed that area up. Friday we got on the water around 10 and I wanted to see what the down pour had done and also try to catch some crappie (I found out again that I am far from a crappie guru) met the girls at the resort around 1 back out at 2:30 got on a little bit of a bite with a jerk bait and a spinnerbait on secondary points and channel swing banks water temp 49-52. Sat I was out at 6:40 it was cold very good morning bite on the wart backend of the creeks back side of secondaries lead to chunk rock/pea gravel transition area not a ton of bites but the one I had were very good good color temp 50-53.Breakfast at 9:30 back on the lake with my bro and nephew at 10:30 till 12:30 back in for lunch back out solo while my bro grilled dogs for a growing 13 year old. Lost two keeps in 40 min in the real dirty water temp was 54 in the dirtiest water, picked up my bro and nephew and did 2:30-4:30 wart and jig bite in stained water broke off a real good(so it felt)one on a jig. Sunday morning 6:30-9:30 caught 5 two keeps on a wiggle wart temp 49-51. Great weekend fishing went from fair to very good.
