Had our club tourney this weekend with winner ending up with 22.17 for a day and a half (single person). Had 4 for 8.25 on Sat. and a whopping 13.92 with 3 fish on 5 hours fishing today. Fished gravois area Sat. and Shawnee bend on Sunday. 6.30 lb fish caught early on black spinnerbait and a 5.22 lb fish along with others on a shakey head. His partner and boater finished second with 15.69 lb. today between them they had 5 fish for 19.34. Big fish caught on main lake point and others on secondaries. I myself had a rough tourney with just 1 keeper each day, lost 3 keepers yesterday with my fish caught skipping jigs behind docks in chimney cove today and dam area yesterday. I would say fishing is slow and pretty tough for the weekend warrior guys like myself. Not a whole lot of fish on beds yet I don’t think. Conditions were not conducive to looking for bedding fish with strong winds Sat. I did catch a good one prefishing in a pocket early but fished pockets most of tourney day and had a grand total of one 3.5 lber and a bunch of shorts. |
