Fishing Notes |
---|
I had a few quick furies with the sexy dawg that were mainly short fish way off the bank on points. Other than that I had to hit a lot of spots and occasionally ran into a quality fish. For me the topwater bite did not produce big bites, with one exception (but I failed to land a 4 or 5 pounder). My best fish came on a larger profile 1/2 jig and craw trailer with the shaky head worm coming next. I moved spots frequently and and occasionally ran into some big ones. I caught my second 6 pounder of the weekend on a secondary point about 1/2 way into a large cove. I had a solid 4 pounder and two small keepers that came off a main lake point. I was unable to catch keepers stacked up anywhere just yet. I placed several brush piles around our condo dock over the winter and pulled some fish out of the brush in 10-15 feet of water as well as some shallow fish near the bank, but these tended to be short or marginal keeper fish. |
