Fishing Notes |

All in all I thought the fishing was pretty good this past weekend considering late summer is usually pretty tough on me. I fished a couple of hours Friday through Sunday. I found a consistent bite in brush piles. Not every piece of brush had fish, but a high percentage produced. I mainly targeted brush in the 15-20′ range, on main lake and coves. Location didn’t seem to matter much. The 10″ worm was the best brush producer. Sunday I idled over a long flat main lake point way off the bank and it looked like a good number of fish around the bottom. I turned the boat around and threw back where I came from and got bit right when the worm got to the bottom. There was a school there and I was able to catch 6 or 8 fish on that spot. It wasn’t every cast, but they were there. I think I could have caught more, but had to go home. I got two small keepers and a nice 4 pound fish on that spot. I also caught some small fish flipping shallow docks, so it seemed like there are several patterns available. I think the best way to go now would be brush if you have enough of it located. |
