Fishing Notes |

My son Ryan and I had a few hours to get on the lake and fish today so we took advantage of it. Unfortunately our house has been taken over by sickness so neither of us felt very good. That resulted in us staying out of the cold wind as we fished water that had just a slight ripple. I am sure that did not play to our advantage but it was that or take the Phoenix back home dry. We fished inside of 4 coves (2 on the north-side and 2 on the south-side) concentrating on channel swing banks and secondary points with Jerkbaits and E-Factor Blue Craw & Okeechobee Craw Finesse Jigs. Our best bite was on the last couple (towards the back) secondary points inside the coves. Our boat was in 20 feet or so about 2 boat lengths off the banks. The Jerkbait out-fished the Finesse Jig for us today. We caught a decent amount of fish for just the few hours that we fished and for the small amount of water that we actually covered. Our day started around noon and we were off the water by 3:15. Any questions or comments please feel free to contact me. |
