Location/Presentation/Structure

started at a cove near the hurricane deck bridge at about 8:30 with a cain walker top water with no takers after about  1/2 hour switched to a jig. had a short and 4lb. in half hour. john was throwing spinner & wart catching several shorts. we targeted coves with pockets, with wind seemed to help. seemed to catch most of our fish before noon, but caught fish all day. tried to parallel the bank with our boat sitting in 8-10′. found several beds with cruisers  close. we hit main lake points with chunk rock , catching just shorts. i stayed with the jig  most of the day & john with jig and lizard for most of his fish. the jig bite seemed to be the lure of the day. fished with john last week on the niangua . thought we where fishing the dead sea. after 7 hrs. on the water ,john had a 2 1/2. only fish of the day, so today was a welcome change. as always, good to be on the water.
