Anyone who has been on Lake of the Ozarks knows that there are many docks on the lake. To a bass angler, docks are an ideal form of cover. They offer cover, shade, and structure. Even more importantly, they attract forage such as bluegill, crappie, shad, and crawdads. One reason docks are so good is that they provide shade that extends anywhere from the bank out towards the deeper end of the dock.
