9/28/13 Central Pro Am Day 1 Results On Lake Of The Ozarks

I want to thank Mike and Sherry Webb, Owners of The Central Pro Am Bass Fishing Tournament Series, for welcoming Bassing Bob to their annual awards banquet held last night at Bootleggers and for thier hospitality and mention of Bassing Bob today at the first day of the Central Pro Am Championship on Lake of the Ozarks held at Robins Resort.   For tournament anglers in the midwest, you need to check out the Central Pro Am.  Mike and Sherry really know how to take good care of their tournament fisherman.   Check out their newly announced Tournament Angler Loyalty Program for 2014, it is really impressive and demonstrates Mike and Sherry’s committment to their fisherman, check it out: http://www.central-proam.com

Today, 30 qualifying anlgler and co-anglers took off from Robins Resort at Lake of the Ozarks for day one of the championship tournament.   Air temperatures today were in the 70’s, with overcast skies and a good wind of 10-15mph.   Water temperatures on Lake of the Ozarks have not quite cooled down much over the past week and holding steady in the mid 70’s.

Although the conditions seemed ideal for heavy bags on Lake of the Ozarks, the bite was not on as might be expected.   There seemed to be a front that just wanted to come through all day and finally did work its way through the lake area early aftnernoon, this seemed to have shut down the really good bite that has been on the past week or so on the lake when the weather and water conditions were steady and predictable.

However, these Central Pro Am fisherman, are excellent and pushed their way through the tough bite to bring some impressive fish to the scales.

Joe Brantley brought an impressive bag of 18.36 Lake of the Ozarks Bass to the scales with big bass for the day of 5.92 pounds.  Joe seems to have the Lake of the Ozarks bass figured out.  Joe won the recent FLW-BFL tournament held on LOZ a couple of weeks ago.   Good luck tomorrow Joe, we are all looking forward to hearing how you are sticking the hawgs on LOZ.

Pete Wenners, another excellent midwest angler was second today with a nice bag weighing 14.43 pounds.   While Mike has some ground to make up tomorrow, he seemed confident that he has a bite that will give Joe a good challenge tomorrow.

On the Co-Angler side, Rick Emmett weighed in a nice bag of 11:04 pounds including co-angler big bass weighing 5.01 pounds.   That is a very impressive sack for a co-angler with a very tough bite today on Lake of the Ozarks.  Way to go Rick and good luck tomorrow.
