Second Annual Classic Country Jamboree To Benefit SFCC-Lake Of The Ozarks

LAKE of the OZARKS— Bill (Goofer) Atterberry, 38-year comedian, musician and entertainer at Lee Mace’s Ozark Opry, will headline the Genuine Country Music Association’s (GCMA) second annual benefit Classic Country Jamboree at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, to raise scholarship funds for students attending State Fair Community College-Lake of the Ozarks.

The music- and comedy-filled jamboree will be held at The Lodge of Four Seasons, 315 Four Seasons Drive, Lake Ozark.

Also featured will be country music pianist and studio musician Tim Atwood, a 38-year veteran of the Grand Ole Opry staff band; Scotty Henderson, a Kansas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame member who has performed for more than 30 years; vocalist Alicia Farrell Lange, a Lake of the Ozarks native who is a demo singer and back-up vocalist in Nashville; and The Board of Directors Band, with Roy D. and Jim Phinney on guitar, Jay Orr on drums and John Farrell on bass.

Roxane Atwood, a Nashville TV producer, announcer and voice-over artist, will emcee the event with John Farrell.

There will be a dance floor, and concessions will be available. A silent auction is planned.

Tickets are $15 for GCMA members, $20 for nonmembers and free for children under age 12. They are available at the John Farrell Real Estate Company, 5750 Osage Beach Parkway, and SFCC-Lake of the Ozarks, 3797 Osage Beach Parkway, both in Osage Beach; and the SFCC Foundation, 3201 W. 16th St., Sedalia.

John Farrell, Brad Rigby and Tony Smith founded the GCMA seven years ago to perform and maintain traditional country music.
