Bassing Bob Tournament Info You Should Know For December 12, 2015
I hope you all will have a chance to fish the opening tournament of the Bassing Bob Winter Bass Challenge, the weather, while cloudy is supposed to be a very comfortable 60-70. Here is some additional information and summary of the event.
- Friday Night at JJ Twigs: Rob, Ben Verheof, Wayne Fitzpatrick, Joe Grafeman and I will be at JJ Twigs, a new major sponsor for Bassing Bob, on Bangnell Dam Blvd. and HH on Friday night from about 6-8 having a beer and pizza. We will be in the bar area if you want to stop by and hang out with us.
- Tournament Poker Pot: We have added a fun new component to the Bassing Bob Winter Bass Challenge and optional Poker Pot. The rules are pretty simple. Pay one time, $10 for your team. Each tournament that you fish you will recieve/select a playing card (we will record and write boat number). On the final tournament, the team with the best 3 card poker hand wins the pot, 100% payback. If you cannot fish all tournaments, you can buy additional cards for $5. Just a little additional fun and chance to win.
- Take Off at 8:00AM at Alhonna Resort with Weigh-in at 3:30PM.
- Take Off Grub: We will have bacon, bisquits n gravey, donuts and coffee for take off, starting about 6:30AM.
- Weigh-in Grub: We will have BBQ beef sandwiches and soft drinks at weigh-in.
- Registration will be open at Alhonna next in pavilion next to the ramp at 6:30AM.
- Off Limits: Phe He Tsi N/E Point to Lazy Days SW Point, no fishing in all coves in between including Lazy Days Coves, all of Alhonna Cove (Workmans Cove), inside bouys of Coffman, inside points of Shawnee Bend Access and Red Oak Cove.
- No Alabama Rig. I have had many ask me about varying twist and tweaks of baits to qualify. While that is fine, the spirit of the "no A-Rig" is to encourage fishing and winning with traditional baits as does B.A.S.S. We follow the B.A.S.S. definition for baits, see below:
B.A.S.S. Rule:
Any umbrella-type rigging, harness, or other device designed to hold more than one lure at a time – with or without hooks – is not allowed. Such rigging, harness, or device cannot be added to a single lure as described above. Traditional twin arm spinnerbaits or buzz baits are allowed. Trailer hooks and plastic trailers must be on the main hook of the bait; only spinner blades can be affixed to the arms. The head on the main stem may be hinged. On these spinnerbaits or buzz baits, no more than two wires, with a maximum length of 6 inches, may extend off the main arm or body of the lure. The “head and hook” portion of the lure must trail behind the blade or blades.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you this weekend.
