Tournament Notes
Anglers Choice puts on a great tournament. Today, they treated the fisherman to a full BBQ at the weigh-in. Rich Byrne is doing a great job organizing these tournaments. Anglers Choice is one of the premier tournament trails in the U.S. and includes a route to fishing the BassMaster Team Championship. Bassing Bob, encourages bass fisherman to fish this tournament, the next tournament on Lake of the Ozarks is Sunday June 8th from 6:00AM to 2:00PM. Today the winners were site fishing for big bass, they reported that the bite was more difficult today than last weekend, as the water has risen quite a bit and thus the first wave of big fish spawners were deeper and more difficult to see and catch, they reported having a total of 7 fish all day, the right sized fish however. Second place team of Kyle and John reported catching pre-spawning bass a bit deeper on cranks baits, wiggle wart and Carolina Rig Lizard/Brush Hog. Third place team of Jay and Kyle Hulsey (the Hulsey name is synonymous with being in the pay check line at tournaments – great fisherman), reported catching a small limit early site fishing for bedding bass and then finding the bigger fish out off the banks in about 10-12 feet of water, catching these pre-spawn bass on jigs.
