Marcus Sykora used a variety of topwater baits including a buzzbait to win the first Central Pro Circuits Elite event on Lake of the Ozarks winning close to $3000 for his efforts. Sykora concentrated his efforts from the toll Bridge to the 7 mile marker focused on boat docks with large “black rock” around them to weigh in over 36 pounds in the two day event. “Schools of Gizzard Shad were feeding on plankton on large black rocks on the lower portion of the lake, anywhere I could find that rock near boat docks I was able to catch quality fish.” Second place went to Willard, MO angler Bobby Albert. Albert caught the majority of his fish on the first day of the event on a buzzbaits and spinnerbait but had to change tactics on the second day relying on a wiggle wart to bring his limit to the scales. His two day total of 31.70 earned Albert just shy of $2000. Mark Tucker took home third place honors with a two day weight of 29.87 pounds and winning a just over $1400 for his efforts. The Lake of the Ozarks event marks the first Central Pro Elite event in history and the is the kick off for the 2015 season. The next event is on Table Rock Lake; March 7&8, 2015 leading to a three day championship on Stockton Lake in September where anglers will compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.
