One of the best charity tournaments at Lake of the Ozarks, IUOE 148, which helps fund Ronald McDonald House in STL, were satisfied with 118 boats this year up from last year. They project that that this years tournament will have raised $35k-$40K in donations. The winning team reported catching their winning bag of fish and big bass on main lake points, with a Carolina Rigged Brush hog and jigs. The tournament paid 12 places with the last pay-out taking 15.6 pounds. Most fisherman reported catching their fish mid way to the backs of creeks around docks , in brush and in shade with plastic worms and creature baits. A number of fisherman reported a good early morning bite on top water baits, mostly the whopper plopper. One team that cashed a check threw the whopper plopper all day in the backs or creeks. The cash checking fisherman fished in many areas of the Lake, including the Glaize, many fishing the 10mm to the dam and a few limits from the Niangua area. see Bassing Bob Photo’s for Take-off and Weigh-in Pictures. |
