Day 2 of USA Bassin 2 Day Regional Tournament took out of Robins Resort this morning just before 7. Yesterday the top weight of the day was 15+ pounds, today was a different day for many of the anglers. Roger and Cory Cook, two of Lake of the Ozarks best anglers finished with 13+ yesterday but smashed over 21 pounds today. Roger and Cory reported catching their bass in the Dam area and Glaize area the past two days. Roger said they caught fish both shallow and deep. Yesterday they were catching their bass in deep brush piles from 15′-20′ of water on a jig and texas rigged brush hog. Roger said that today, they mostly targeted deep brush piles but would pull up to some shallow docks that just looked right. One of those isolated docks produced a heavy 4 pounder that anchored there 21+ pound bag today. All of their fish looked to be about the same size heavy 3 pounders and 4 pounders. The bait that most anglers reported catching their big bass today was the brush hog. One of the top teams caught quality keepers early on the spook around docks in the back of creeks. Another top finishing team reported catching their big fish on the Ned rig targeting steeper creek channel banks with the bite coming shallow on those steep banks. Big bass was caught on a Carolina rigged brush hog on a main lake channel swing flat. Most of the fisherman reported catching their fish in the Glaize arm of the lake with some of the big stringers caught in the Dam area and some quality fish being caught around hurricane deck area to the 60mm. It seems the entire lake is fishing good right now. One of the near 5 pounders was caught today on a crank bait on a wood laydown. See photo gallery under photos for all photos from the final day. |
