Today one of the biggest tournaments in recent times, 277 boats took off today in the High School open tournament out a PB2. The bite was very tough as reflected in the weights as most of the lake is a bit dirty and the water has been a bit cold the past few days due to cold nights. However Cameron Berry and Baily Bewley from AVA HS managed a nice bag of fish, 14.72 pounds with 4 fish. They reported catching their fish on a crank bait. You can listen to the audio report for the interview to hear the type of crank bait, color and lake location they caught their winning sack. Most fisherman reported catching their fish on wiggle warts, rock crawlers, jigs and the stick bait all over the lake. Many anglers ran to the clear water of the Gravois and lower end, where the bite was on the stick bait and crank bait on and around main lake points.
