Today 120 boats took off from PB2 at 7:00 AM in the IOUE Local 148 Charity Tournament which supports Ronald McDonald House. This is an awesome tournament that includes a Brat Wurst Dinner on Friday night before the tournament a pork steak dinner after the tournament lots of awesome attendance prizes all as part of your $150 entry fee. After the dinner there is a silent and live auction and a random drawing for $2,500. Ken and Teresa Hunt won the tournament with 20.01 pounds. They reported catching their fish shallow in 1-6′ of water between the 14mm and 6mm of the Osage. They caught their fish on a Crock-o-Gator Shaky Head with a Magnum trick worm and on a green pumpkin beaver style creature bait. Many of the anglers reported the bite to be pretty tough, especially those trying to fish main lake points as the big boat traffic was heavy. Those that did catch quality fish mostly reported catching them fish the shade of shallow boat docks and flipping shallow wood up the river area of the Osage with Shaky Head Worms and Creature Baits. There were quality fish caught on the lower end of the lake fishing deep, 15’+ on points with a heavy jig and shaky head worms. Also reports of shallow fish being caught on the lower end fishing the shade of shallow boat docks in creeks and pockets. The tournament paid out 12 places, with the final check being paid out for 13.11 pounds.
