Tournament Notes
Tonight was the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Championship with Fifty (50) teams qualifying. The weather was great and the bite was good for some of the anglers and slow for others. Just like the last couple of weeks the little 13 and 14 inch bass were biting like crazy, but the bigger bass were hard to come by. The lake has been fluctuating due to the generation causing the bass to be spread out, which has definitely effected the bite. The surface water temperature has dropped to 80 degrees causing the bass to go shallower than normal this time of the year and the shad are thick in the back of the creeks and coves. Most of the bass caught according to the anglers were right on the bank out to eight to ten feet on main lake and secondary points, as well as the back of the creeks and coves. Jigs, worms, top water and spinner baits were the best bite. Some of the bass caught were in shallow brush.
The lake level at take off was 658.71 with generation at 32,900 cfs. The surface water temperature varied from 80 to 81 degrees.
