The bite was tough today for the 136 teams that fished the Fish for Site Tournament today. Most anglers were fishing boat docks in the backs of creeks and brush piles all of the lake. Many anglers also fished the windy and shady side of wave breaks and big dock corners. Most anglers reported catching a lot of fish on those patterns all over the lake. No area of the lake seemed to produce any better than the other, from dam to dam on those patterns. Most fishing on the bottom with worms and jigs and some morning fish on top water baits toward the backs of creeks with the spook and buzz bait. Some quality fish reported caught on the chatter bait and spinner bait. The winners reported striking out early flipping shallow boat docks with jig and creature baits and then moved to deeper points and secondary points, picking off key keepers, one at a time on many points. Overall, no really defined pattern, bait or area of the lake. Typical fall transition. Some in brush, some shallow, some on dock shade, some deep and all over the lake. |
