Brrr, it was a cold day on the water for the Anglers fishing the Show-Me Tournaments, Just Fishing event. The sun was out early, then a cold front came through with clouds and 15+mph winds, it seems that for most the bite somewhat slowed down after the front came through. Most anglers did not travel too far from take off to make their catch. Linn Creek – Shawnee Bend and the Glaize produced most of the big fish today. The anglers reported catching the quality fish on a jig, fishing midway to the backs of creeks, pea gravel spawning pockets and secondary points leading to spawning pockets. Some of the fish were caught off of beds, but when the cloud cover rolled in it was difficult to catch em. The Shaky head also produced quality fish. There were also quality fish caught on the spinner bait, crank bait and stick bait. Most keeper fish were caught from the bank out to about 8′ of water. |
