Today the bite seemed a bit better than yesterday. There were 10 teams that bought 15+ pounds to the scales. Pretty good with 28 boats. There were some big fish caught too, a 6.25 for big bass and many 5 pounders including a 5.96 and 5.91. The big fish all looked to be pre-spawn fish with big bellies. Most of the key fish today were caught on bottom baits. The winners caught their nearly 19 pounds on the Carolina Rig working main lake points in the Glaize. Big fish were also caught on a jig, 1/2 and 3/4 oz in varying colors. Most fish caught around spawning pockets and docks mid way to the backs of coves. Some quality fish were also caught on top water baits, swim baits and spinner baits. |
