Fishing Notes

There was minimum generation today and the bass have scattered. The 2 keepers were caught ¾ of the way back in a cove near the deep end of a dock. The keepers were caught in about 15 feet of water. The bass that were caught had shad nearby. I was lucky to see some bass attacking a school of shad and caught 2 small bass on 2 cast in the frenzy. It was all of but over in a couple minutes. I made a few more cast in the area without any more takers. The temperatures were a bit cooler and the sky was cloudy perhaps why the bass may have been in a bit more shallow water than normal for July. Thanks to Ben Verhoef that works at Fitz Fishing Tackle and Supply on some tips he offered me earlier today.
