Fishing Notes |

This evening Rob and I fished the Thursday night tournament out of PB2. This tournament is a 3 keeper limit tournament from 6:30 – 10:00. A really fun tournament for us average anglers, I would encourage all of you to consider fishing the tournament as they do not allow guides or experts to fish the tourney. There were 15 boats tonight. Rob and I first ran to chimney cove to fish a long tapering secondary point with brush, we did not get bit there and probably spent too much time there. We then started back toward the toll bridge to explore main lake points and ledges. We hit the mother lode on a deep point with big rocks catching fish in about 15′-25′ of water. Rob landed all of the keepers tonight, he caught a 4 pounder, then a 4.98 pounder on that point which gave us 2 good ones by about 8:15, we then proceeded to fish some additional main lake points picking up another 3 pounder and a couple of small keepers. We ended the night with 11.98 pounds which was enough for first place. The bite was good on each of the points for both keepers and short fish, I caught the short ones while Rob was landing the keepers. It was a fun night and quite exciting to fish and win a tournament with my son. |
