Fishing Notes |
---|
After getting skunked yesterday I decided to make a run from the Glaize to the Tan Tara area. The first thing that I noticed in that area was the water temperature was about 2 degrees colder than the Glaize and Toll Bridge areas that I had been fishing. The other thing that I noticed after two cast was that the fish were biting. It felt good to get that first bite after having zero bites yesterday. The bite continued for the 4 hours that I was out there fishing. I got on the water about 12 and fished until 4. When I first started fishing, the sun was shining, so I was fishing banks with some slight wind and sun beating on the banks, I caught about 4-5 fish in the first 40 minutes on that sunny bank. When the clouds rolled in the bite turned off for a while, but I was able to get three more short fish. I had 3 15″-16″ keepers on one stretch of bank and a 3+pounder on the secondary point at the end of that stretch. It felt good to finally have a consistent stick bait bite. My boat was sitting in 25-30 feet of water, casting to just off the bank, most bites came in 8′-12′ of water while the bait was dead sticked. Happy New Year everyone, please be safe. Bob |
