Fishing Notes

This morning I got on the water about 11:00 started to fish and in 30 minutes the skies opened and it poured, so that delayed things a bit as I sought cover with the lightning. When I got back to fishing I headed to party cove and fished the last couple of creek channel banks and the last couple of shallow coves with a consistent bite on the finesse jig catching fish in 4-6′ of water just inside of the points leading into the shallow coves, I also caught a good one fan casting the “New” D-Bomb Destroyer Missile Bait on the Carolina Rig. This evening my good friend and fishing guide Jack Uxa fished the Thursday night tournament out of PB2. This is such an awesome tournament with a 3 keeper limit. The tournament is tailor made of average fisherman like me. We took off at 6:30PM with weigh in at 10. Jack and I targeted docks in both Lazy Days and in Kalfran cove with Jack on the front of the boat skipping a weightless senco behind docks, he caught three keepers and lost a giant that broke off. We finished with 7.69 pounds, a full two pounds off the winning bag of 9.9 pounds. All in all it was a fun day and a fun evening tournament.
