Got On A Good Crank Bait Bite

Gravois to the Dam , Steady troll, brush and rocky bluff ends

Today i finally got back on the water after letting the vacationers have it for the weekend! I wanted to get a crappie report from the dam area, so thats where i headed about 10 am this morning. I started off in the mouth of the gravois and it didn’t take long for the crappie to bite. I was targeting the first row of docks right inside the main lake point areas. When i say row i mean like 5-10 docks that are right in line with one another. What i did was throw the bandit series 300 back behind my boat about 40 feet then hit the trolling motor on about half speed and start trolling. I would try to stay as tight to the docks as possible without getting snagged on the dock itself. My bites doing this technique came in about 15-20 foot of water with the boat in about 30-35 foot of water. If i would get a bite in a certain area i would troll right back over it to see if there was anymore takers!! it worked id usually catch at least 2 more running this process. I could have do this all day i was having so much fun!! i even caught 3 or 4 bass doing this. I really wanted to check out the bluff end bite that i had recently heard about, so i made a move from the gravois and went closer to the dam. The first bluff end i came to i looked down on my graph and saw the crappie suspended at about 15 foot, boat sitting in 45 foot. So i threw the bandit back behind me and started trolling, and as soon as that bait got to the spot i saw them at WACK!!!! i had a 12 incher nail it!! i continued to catch 4 of this same bluff end. This crank bait bite is really on guys, its alot of fun trolling for these fish. My 3 biggest ones came of the bluff ends.
