Fishing Notes |
---|
Today I started off fishing a creek in the mid Glaize area, for those of you familiar with the Glaize, I started off in the cove of Park Place condos. That cove usually has a lot of bait fish, docks, off shore structure and some steep channel banks. the bait fish were there, fish over off shore cover but the water was muddy, very dirty. I did not have a lot of confidence so I moved down the Glaize and fished some small creeks with mixed rock banks and pea gravel. I went to the very back of one of these creeks mostly to work my way into the wind and fish channel swings and bank changes working my way to the first secondary point and to my surprise had a keeper bite on a pea gravel bank that the sun was beating on but the first deep water out of the back of that creek. My boat was in 15′ of water the bite came in 5′-10′ of water. So I threw back to that same bank and caught another keeper. I threw back to it a few more times with no bites. This has been consistent for me the past week or so, catching a couple of fish on the very same part of a bank. I fished some off shore structure and caught a couple of more shorts, dead stlicking my jerkbait over 13′-15′ brush piles. I also tried to change things up a bit today and fished the double underspin witih a swimbait, slowly rolling it on the bottom and around brush with no bites, but I think that pattern could work. As I moved lower int he Galize the water cleared a bit, but for the most part stained. |
