Tournament Notes
Tonight was the last regular Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament and forty (40) teams ignored the 96 degree temperature launching out of PB#2. The boat traffic was nil other than the go fast boats racing up and down the Osage apparently practicing for the big shoot out this coming weekend. Bass fishing was fair as far as boating 4 and 5 pound largemouth, but there was no trouble catching the 12 to 14 inchers. The bass being caught are anywhere from the bank out to 15 feet. According to most of the anglers they were getting bit on jigs, worms and creature baits. Some said they caught there keepers in brush and others on plain chunk rock banks. There were eight teams weighing a 4 fish limit consisting of four 3 pound, two 4 pound and two 5 pound largemouth. Not many big bass considering the amount of anglers. The generation has been varied all day, earlier the generation was 34,500 cfs and at weigh-in it was 1,700 cfs. The current lake level is 658.92 and the surface water temperature is 88 degrees. Our next tournament will be the “championship,” on September 8th. It will be a Bass Cat Quest sponsored by our local Bass Cat Dealer, BoatWrx and Bass Cat Boats of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
